Obituary

HUDSON - Corinne P. Bothen, 77, of Hudson died unexpectedly in her home on November 1, 2015. She was pre-deceased by her mother, Maxine (Miller) Conroy, her father, John Conroy, her son, Ron Bothen, and her husband, James Bothen. She leaves behind her son, Glenn Bothen of Wallkill NY and a sister, Sheila Shogan of Greensburg PA. She was born June 30, 1938 in Boston, MA and was a graduate of Waltham High School. Shelived in Wayland, Acton, Hyannis, Maynard and Concord before coming to reside in Hudson in 2013 .

Corinne had great interest in the arts, including drama, fashion design, interior decorating, art history and fine art. Early in her life, she worked as a fashion illustrator and as Registrar for DeCordova Museum in Lincoln, MA. She was a gifted artist in her own right who enjoyed painting portraits as well as seascapes. Her clever imagination allowed her to blend play with education teaching young ones an appreciation for art and music. She also had interest in the culinary arts and enjoyed preparing gourmet meals for friends and family. Those who loved her will miss her outgoing personality and unique sense of humor.

Corinne was a creative person who worked on many personal projects. She was a very organized person who enjoyed keeping a clean house with labels indicating "a place for everything and everything in its place". These qualities helped her later in life as a care giver with a reputation for being diligent, reliable, honest, empathetic and kind to young and old alike while working for a local home health care service.

But most important to Corinne was the volunteer work she was involved in for over 40 years as one of Jehovah's Witnesses teaching others about the wonderful promises contained in the Bible. She regularly attended meetings at congregations with which she was associated in Natick, Maynard and Northborough. As a student of Bible truth, she particularly looked forward to the Bible's promise of an earth soon to be restored to paradise under the rule of God's Kingdom. She served her God, Jehovah, faithfully and her son and friends take comfort in the Bible's promise of welcoming back our dead loved ones in an earthly resurrection as recorded at John 5:28, 29: "The hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out."

Memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2015, at 3:30 PM at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 413 Main St. (Rt. 20), Northborough.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Corinne's memory to the Northborough Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses to support the voluntary Bible educational work of Jehovah's Witnesses worldwide.
