HAVERHILL: Constance M. (Sargent) Godbout, 83, died Sunday at Holy Family Hospital. Mrs. Godbout was the wife of the late William H. Godbout.

Born in Haverhill November 9, 1923, Mrs. Godbout was the daughter of the late Howard F. and Grace L. (Heddemon) Sargent.

She attended school in Haverhill and graduated from Haverhill High School class of 1941. Mrs. Godbout, and her late husband, owned and operated Bill's Ice Company in Haverhill for many years before her retirement in the late 1970's. She was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church, and V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary. Mrs. Godbout enjoyed reading and the time spent with her family.

She is survived by her daughters Patricia Paradis of Haverhill, Alice Geary of Freedom, ME; daughter-in-law Gloria Godbout of Haverhill; grandchildren Susan Hersey and husband Steven, Pamela Corcoran and husband Michael, Danielle Reutter and husband Jeffrey, Constance Lau and husband Jerry, Allison Perez, Marie Seidel; 16 great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter. She was the mother of the late William H. Godbout, Jr.

Friends are invited to the funeral Wednesday 10:00 a.m. at Dole, Childs & Shaw Funeral Home, 148 Main Street, Haverhill. Interment at Linwood Cemetery. Calling hour Tuesday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.
