NORTH ANDOVER - Columbus (Jim) Jordan, resident of Edgewood Retirement Community in North Andover, Massachusetts died at the age of 93 on August 9, 2016 at Lawrence General Hospital.

Columbus, known to his family and friends as Jim, was born in Blum, Texas on Nov 16, 1922 to John Mitchell Jordan and Nora (Mathes) Jordan.

Jim moved to California where he met and married Dorothy Lorraine Pawelk, in his early 20's. They had two children Gerald "Jerry" Lee Jordan and Cynthia "Cindy" Ann (Jordan) LeVasseur. After the passing of his wife Dorothy in 2011, he moved to MA to be closer to his daughter Cindy and to an upscale lifestyle at Edgewood Retirement Community, where he was very happy and well cared for in his later years.

Jim spent his career working in the aerospace industry and then as a civilian worker in the Property Division of the Los Angeles City Police Department. Jim was very active in his youth, enjoyed travel, sports, playing his guitars, the fellowship he found at Christ Community Church in Canoga Park, CA and being with family. Jim was admired by many for his easy going manner and positive outlook on life.

He passed away peacefully and is now reunited with his wife and son. Jim is survived by his daughter, Cynthia Ann (Jordan) LeVasseur and her family, husband Paul and their two sons' families, Paul and his wife Sharon and their son Caleb, and Marc and his wife Annie.

His services were held in California on August 13, 2016.
