SALEM, NH - Christos Tsolakos, 83, of Salem, NH, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2016, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Kalamata, Greece and was the third of eight children of the late Panagiotis and Vasiliki Tsolakos. He was raised in Greece and served as a police officer in Athens and Sparta. Hoping to help his family in Greece and to create a better life for himself, he immigrated to Montreal, Canada. He became a Canadian citizen, worked several professions, and graduated with honors from an apprenticeship for cosmetology in 1963. From there, he went on to open his own barber shop, "Christo's." He met the love of his life, Chrisoula and together came to America in 1970. He became an American citizen and owned many successful pizza restaurants in New Hampshire and Massachusetts such as Village Pizza in Salem, NH and Newport, NH, Star Pizza in Andover, and Liberty Bell in Methuen. Together with his wife, he worked non-stop to provide a better life for his family than they had growing up. Christos was a believer of faith and a member of Holy Apostles Saints Peter and Paul Church, where he was a treasurer on the board of directors and dedicated many years volunteering for charities and festivities and believed in giving back to the community. He was a devoted husband and father and was most happy spending time with his family and close friends.

Christos is survived by his cherished wife of 45 years, Chrisoula Tsolakos; three children Peter Tsolakos, Billy Tsolakos and Vicky Teahan and husband Steve all of Salem, NH; siblings Angela Nikoloulias and husband Dimitri of Salem, NH, Eugenia Kouraba of Menina, Greece, Lefki Kouroupi of Kalamata, Greece, Sotirios Tsolakos and wife Yiannoula of Kalamata, Greece, George Tsolakos and wife Maria of Montreal, Canada, Steve Tsolakos of Holiday, FL, and Kosta Tsolakos and wife Karen of Cape Coral, FL; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.

His funeral will be held Saturday morning, November 5, beginning in the Driscoll Funeral Home, 309 So. Main Street, Haverhill at 10:00 AM. Funeral Service in the Holy Apostles Sts. Peter and Paul Greek Orthodox Church, 154-156 Winter Street, Haverhill at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow in Linwood Cemetery. Calling hours Friday in the funeral home from 5:00 to 8:00 PM.
