Haverhill - Charlotte A. (Rogers) Ennis, 69, lifelong resident of Haverhill, passed away peacefully, Friday evening, March 15, 2013 at the Holy Family Hospital, Methuen.
Mrs. Ennis was born in Haverhill on March 12, 1944, youngest of five children of the late James W. and Beatrice F. (Chapman) Rogers. Graduate of St. James High School, class of 1962.
Cherished wife of Larry J. Ennis of Haverhill, which they have shared almost 45 years of marriage.
Mrs. Ennis was employed for 30 years by the Haverhill Public School System, retiring from Central Office as a Principal Bookkeeper in 2002. Her most important job was being one of a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many.
Her interests include gardening, traveling with her family on special trips over the years, her biggest joy in life was spending time with her family and friends, especially her three granddaughters.
Her surviving family members in addition to her husband include her loving sons, Shaun J. Ennis and his wife Catherine A. of Portsmouth, NH and Keith J. Ennis and his wife Melissa J. of Haverhill; granddaughters, Grace, Ashley and Amber; brothers, Joseph H. Rogers, Sr. and his wife Joann M. of Haverhill and John R. Rogers of Haverhill; many nieces, nephews and cousins; sister of the late James W. Rogers and Mary A. Blair.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning, March 20, beginning in the Driscoll Funeral Home, 309 So. Main Street, Bradford at 9:00 AM. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. James Church, 185 Winter Street, Haverhill at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery, No. Broadway, Haverhill. Visiting hours will be held Tuesday in the Driscoll Funeral Home, 309 So. Main Street (Rte. 125), Bradford, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.
Courtesy local transportation to the visitation will be provided on request by calling Patrick Driscoll at (978) 374-0000.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Mrs. Ennis's memory to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
