Obituary

PLAISTOW, NH: Charles E. Crockett, 80, a lifelong resident of Plaistow, died Monday morning at Merrimack Valley Hospital in Haverhill. Born in Haverhill on June 23, 1929, Mr. Crockett was the son of the late Charles M. and Vivian I. (Landsman) Crockett.

Mr. Crockett graduated from Haverhill High School, Class of 1947. He continued his education at Tilton Academy before entering Boston University graduating in 1955 with a degree in public relations. He entered the U. S. Marines and served in Korea before his discharge in 1960 with the rank of Sergeant. He then joined Western Electric as a member of the public relations department. Mr. Crockett was a member of the Plaistow Baptist Church for sixty years, the Lions Club for fifty-one years, the Plaistow Historical Society, and his class reunion committee at Haverhill High School. He was a true fan of the Boston Red Sox, the Timberlane sport events and horse racing.

He is survived by his sister, Lois Chase, niece Rhonda Chase and her fianc William "Bill" Belcher, Brooke Chase, all of Plaistow, and numerous close and dear friends.

Friends are invited to the funeral Thursday, 10:00 a.m. at the Plaistow Baptist Church followed by interment at Plaistow Cemetery. Calling hours at Dole, Childs & Shaw Funeral Home, 148 Main Street, Haverhill are Wednesday, 2:00 to 4:00, and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
