Obituary

Cathy Malynn Tobin, 66, of Haverhill, passed away on September 11, 2025 at High Pointe Hospice House.

Born on February 1, 1959, in Haverhill, she was a graduate of Haverhill High School and Northern Essex Community College.

Cathy worked as a Benefits, Eligibility, and Referral Social Worker for 40 years with the Department of Mass Health, where her compassion touched many lives. She enjoyed time with family and friends, loved shopping and dining out, and was known for her independence, sense of humor, and unmistakable eye roll.

She is survived by her daughter Mallory Richard and husband Mike; son Christopher Tobin; beloved grandchildren Mikey, Ryan, Luca, and Isabella Richard; siblings Cindy Barberio (Frank), Claire Malynn (Arnie Raffel), and Mike Malynn (Betsy); nieces and nephews; several cousins, as well as good friends Lisa Malynn and Kelly Manseau.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 20, in Driscoll Funeral Home, 309 S. Main Street, Haverhill from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM. Words of Remembrance will begin at 12:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute , 10 Brookline Place West, 6th Floor, Brookline, MA 02445-7226, or to the Glioblastoma Foundation .
