Carol A. Hileman, 75, of Haverhill, passed away on September 9, 2026.

Carol was born in Goffstown, NH, on November 2, 1950, to Lawrence C. Dennis and Doris L. (Grenier) Dennis. She grew up in North Reading, MA, and graduated from North Reading High School in 1968. Carol attended Northern Essex Community College and began her career at American Mutual shortly thereafter. Over the years, her strong work ethic and exceptional customer service skills served her well in the banking industry, where she worked as a credit and collections specialist. She retired from Align Credit Union in 2023 after 10 years of dedicated service.

Carol started her family in Methuen and later lived in Lawrence for 17 years. In 1993, she moved to Haverhill, where she made her home for more than 30 years. She was the beloved widow of Raymond Hileman and is survived by her daughter, Michelle (Corrigan) Finno, son-in-law Barry, and granddaughter Serena, all of Haverhill. She is also survived by her niece, Christy (Dennis) Floyd, and her husband, Kenny; great-niece Lacey Bates; and great-great-nephew Luke, all of Florida. She was predeceased by her brother, Paul L. Dennis, of Florida. Carol was beloved by her extended family and many dear friends. Her grand dog, Salty, will also miss her affectionate words and loving pats on the head.

Carol was deeply loved for her kindness, thoughtfulness, and upbeat personality. She was known for sending greeting cards for every holiday and special occasion, always taking the time to let the people she cared about know she was thinking of them. Carol was a devoted grandmother who rarely missed a celebration or school event and could be found cheering Serena on at as many of her sporting events and theater productions as possible. She also loved wearing hats, and she had quite a collection, including her beloved, bedazzled cowgirl hat from Tennessee. Her daughter, Michelle, would often say that Carol’s hats were always a “conversation piece,” a fitting reflection of Carol’s unique style and fun-loving personality.

Carol was always up for an adventure and especially enjoyed attending local festivals, arts and crafts fairs, and shopping with her friends at The Paper Store and JCPenney. Holiday family traditions were of the utmost importance to her, as were the traditions she shared with her social group, including their weekend breakfast meetups.

Perhaps Carol's favorite place to be was at the beach. She spent many happy days at Salisbury State Reservation and in Ogunquit, ME, enjoying the sunshine, the scenery, and the simple pleasure of being near the ocean. These moments, along with the many traditions, friendships, and family connections she cherished, were a meaningful part of the life she created and the memories she leaves behind.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 26, in the Driscoll Funeral Home, 309 So. Main Street, Haverhill, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. A Private burial will be held in the Ridgewood Cemetery, North Andover, at a later date.
