HAVERHILL: Carmen P. Letizia, Jr., 70, passed away peacefully on July 21, 2023 at Hannah Duston Healthcare Center. He was the husband of Andrea B. Letizia, to whom he was married for 44 years.

Born in Lawrence on June 4, 1953, he was the son of the late Carmen P Sr. and Alda (Fantini) Letizia.

Carmen graduated from Haverhill High School in 1971 and continued his education at University of Mass Amherst, graduating with a bachelor's degree in physical education and a master's degree in Exercise Science in 1977.

A longtime educator and athlete, Carmen pursued a career in physical education and coached the Haverhill Boy's Swim Team. He culminated his 33-year teaching career in 2011 to enjoy an active lifestyle that centered around fishing and road trips with his beloved family (and pets). He loved a good pun, fresh cannoli, and being outside.

In addition to his wife Andrea, Carmen is survived by his daughter Gillian, and her husband Patrick; and daughter Candace.
