MERRIMAC, MA: C. Shirley Jones, 88, passed away peacefully on December 27, 2021 at Port Healthcare Center in Newburyport. She was the wife of the late Robert B. Jones who passed away in 2013.

Born in Merrimac on March 31, 1933 to the late Henry L. and Ruth M. (Heath) Craig.

Shirley was born and educated in Merrimac, and worked for Costello Insurance for more than ten years. She attended the Alliance Church, and was a faithful volunteer at the Seventh Day Advent Church for more than thirty years. She was devoted to volunteering wherever she was needed, and received an award for her service in 2019 from the state of Massachusetts.

Shirley enjoyed taking long leisurely rides along the coast, and visited with her brother and sisters. She enjoyed playing scrabble even though her set had ten blank tiles.

Shirley was one of seven children, and is survived by her sister Eleanor Childs of Londonderry and brother Henry L. Craig of Exeter, NH. Her daughter Candy Uzarek of Lebanon, NH, adopt. Granddaughter Tara M. Jones of Sandown, NH and adopt. Grandson Robert D. Jones of Haverhill, MA. Several Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Tina Jones.
