Brenda Marie
Gable
August 27, 1957 – August 25, 2015
HAVERHILL - Brenda Marie Gable, 57, daughter of Catherine M. (Fantasia) "Geri" Gable and the late Robert C. Gable, passed away suddenly on August 25 at her home in Haverhill. We are deeply saddened to have lost our Brenda, but take comfort in knowing she is finally at peace and is watching over us all.
Brenda was born on August 27, 1957, in Lynn, Massachusetts, and grew up in North Andover. She attended Kittredge School and North Andover High School. During adulthood she spent many years working for electronic companies throughout the Merrimack Valley. Her meticulousness made her excel at circuit-board assembly and quality control. She was admired for and proud of her perfect work.
She was an incredible cook, housekeeper and gardener; she had two green thumbs and always maintained the loveliest houseplants, never a brown leaf in sight. Wherever she lived, she'd plant a little garden outside her door that would quickly blossom into a jungle of color and vines.
She loved the beach, and said among her fondest childhood memories was of jumping waves at the Dipsy in Kennebunk Beach, Maine. She cherished her collection of moons, suns, and stars and felt connected to what the celestial bodies represented to her: dreams, hope, and faith. She had a great sense of humor and could turn a funny phrase on a dime; she adored Elvis, tie-dye, classic rock, scented candles, South Pacific and The Wizard of Oz. Brenda always looked forward to spending time with family and friends, telling stories and enjoying good food and plenty of laughter.
Brenda is survived by her only child, Jeremy Robert Gable, 27, and his fiancée, Katie Gallant; and their sons, Nathan, 8, and Benjamin, 4, of Epping, NH. She is also survived by her beloved mother, Geri Gable, whom she called her "rock," and her sister Cathleen Gable, both of North Andover; her brother, Vernon Gable of Haverhill and his daughter, Sydney of Salem, NH, her sister and childhood roommate Laurie Gable, of Andover; her aunt, Charlotte Daly, of Andover; and her cousins, Michael Fowler, Karen O'Connor, Paula Andrewchuck, Diane DiLorenzo, and Nicole McNaught. She is also survived by Judith Budlong, with whom she shared a loving and supportive friendship for many years, including the final months of her life.
Celebration of Brenda's life will be held on Saturday afternoon, September 19, 2015 in the Driscoll Funeral Home, 309 So. Main Street, Haverhill from 1:00 to 4:00 PM. Prayers and blessings will take place at 3:30 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions in Brenda's memory to be made to Women's View, an organization dedicated to helping women in recovery and their families at Women's View, 582-584 Haverhill Street, Lawrence, MA 01841.
