HAVERHILL: Bertha A. (Proctor) Daly, 90, a lifelong resident of Haverhill, died Sept. 21, 2007 at Wingate at Haverhill. Mrs. Daly was the wife of the late William D. Daly.

Born in Haverhill November 19, 1916, Mrs. Daly was the daughter of the late Harry and Sadie (Dickey) Proctor.

Mrs. Daly attended Haverhill High School. While in her 20s she had been in charge of the candy concession at Haverhills Strand Theater. She had worked sixteen years as Executive Housekeeper at the former Bradford College before her retirement in 1976. Mrs. Daly loved gardening, and was an accomplished seamstress, knitter and cook.

She is survived by her daughter Lois A. Young and her husband Michael of Haverhill; granddaughter Jennifer A. Thellen and her husband Christopher of Lowell; great granddaughter Nichole Ann Thellen, and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Edith A. Bryson.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside memorial service Tuesday 11:00 a.m. at Elmwood Cemetery. At the familys request there will be no calling hours.
