HAVERHILL: Bernice (Woodman) Hoyt, 89, died Thursday at Merrimack Valley Hospital. Mrs. Hoyt was the wife of Pierce M. Hoyt, Sr.

Mrs. Hoyt was born in Durham, NH on January 4, 1918. She had worked as a bookkeeper for Pope Machine in Haverhill for many years, and was a member of Second Baptist Church. As an accomplished musician she had play the organ at church, nursing homes, and for services at this funeral home.

Beside her husband of twenty-four years she is survived by her stepson Pierce M. Hoyt, Jr. and his wife Lisa of Grafton, NH, three step grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to attend a memorial service Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at Second Baptist Church, 314 Amesbury Line Road, Haverhill. At the family's request there will be no calling hours. Interment at Linwood Cemetery. Arrangements by Dole, Childs & Shaw Funeral Home, 148 Main Street, Haverhill.
