Barbara C.
Grant
July 19, 1931 – December 3, 2021
HAVERHILL: Barbara C. (Tate) Grant, went home to be with the Lord during her stay at Greystone Farm Assisted Living. She was surrounded by her loving family as well as her extended family, the care takers from Greystone Farm.
Barbara had the knack of winning people over to like her with her pleasant personality. She was the daughter of the late Helen C. and Clifford G. Tate of Bradford. She was raised in Bradford, graduated from Haverhill High School in 1949, and shared 58 years of marriage as the loving wife of the late Richard G. Grant who passed in 2011. Upon marriage she became a wonderful mother and homemaker. Raising her two sons, James K. Grant and Glenn D. Grant, who were her pride and joy.
Barbara was proud to have formerly worked at Maguire's store in Bradford, and later in life she became a top sales professional for Avon cosmetics. She absolutely loved selling for Avon, and felt like it wasn't a job, it was fun. She won many sales contests and earned several accolades from her successful sales. While working for Avon her outstanding personality made her many friends that she would get together with for lunch or tea regularly.
Barbara loved to vacation in Maine and spent time with her family. She loved growing flowers and feeding the birds as hobbies. She faithfully attended West Congregational Church, and was a member of Haverhill's Rainbow for Girls. One of her favorite ways to keep in touch with people, and bring a smile, was to send greeting cards for any and all occasions including: birthdays, anniversaries, graduations and notes of thanks.
Barbara was especially proud of her grandchildren, Dallas (Grant) Schevis, her husband Ryan Schevis, Jasmine (Grant) Garnhum and her husband Joseph Garnhum. She was overjoyed with her great grandchildren, Harper and Landon Schevis and Zander Garnhum.
Barbara will be sorely missed by her family, extended family, friends, and especially James Grant and his wife Dale (Caron) Grant, Caresse (Caron) Raby her husband Sam Raby and Sandra Grant. Barbara was the mother of the late Glenn Grant.
