HAVERHILL: Dr. Audrey W. Levin, 76, passed away on January 30, 2014 following a long illness.

Born in Albany, NY on April 22, 1937, Dr. Levin was the daughter of the late Louis E. Wald, D.D.S. and Sylvia L. (Bernstein) Wald.

Educated in Albany, NY, Dr. Levin was Salutatorian of Albany High School, Class of 1954. She furthered her education graduating from Simmons College, Class of 1958, and received her first Masters in Early Childhood Education at The Banks Street College for Education in NY. She earned a second Masters, with distinction, and received a Doctorate in Psychology, with honors, at New York University in 1981. Following twenty-five years of practice at Creedmoor State Hospital, in Queens, NY, Dr. Levin retired in 1988, and entered private practice in Manhattan, and later Boca Raton, FL. Dr. Levin continued her passion for education after her retirement, and was an accomplished scholar. Dr. Levin generously supported many charities, and was an avid national and international folk dancer.

Dr. Levin moved from Florida to Haverhill to be near her immediate family, and is survived by her daughters, Donna A. Levin and Claudia J. Mackey and her husband John Mackey; her brother, Dr. Harvey Wald; grandchildren, Savannah Croft-Levin, and Madelyn and Carter Mackey; niece, Hilary Glynn; nephew, Michael Wald.

At the family's request arrangements by Dole, Childs & Shaw Funeral Home, 148 Main Street, Haverhill will be private.
