Veasey, Jr.

Arthur Hale Veasey, Jr., a life-long resident of Haverhill, and a summer resident of Squirrel Island, Maine, died December 26, 2018 at High Pointe House in Haverhill.
Born November 7, 1922, the son of Decia Beebe and Arthur H. Veasey, he was a graduate of the class of 1941 at Phillips Academy, and pursued his higher education at Kenyon College before enlisting in the United States Navy, serving in the Pacific Theater during WWII.
Mr. Veasey began a globetrotting career with United Shoe Machinery Corp. in 1947 eventually assuming the position of General Manager of the Pan American Division where he oversaw company operations throughout Latin America. Locally, he was a long time Director of the Merrimack Valley National Bank. He was a Freemason and member of Merrimack Lodge F. & A.M., and he was a member of all Scottish Rite bodies and all York Rite bodies.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years Natalie Futrell. He is survived by his loving family, which includes his daughter, Leslie Veasey Schade and her husband F. Tucker of Blue Bell, PA; son, Arthur Hale Veasey, III and his wife Susan of West Newbury; and son, Robert Anderson Veasey of Chicago. He is also survived by five grandchildren: Sylenda Schade Graf (Tom), Stephanie Schade Thibodeau (Ray), F. Tucker Schade, Jr. (Beth), Helen Veasey Murphy (Owen) and Robert Arthur Veasey, as well as three great-grandsons, William Hale Thibodeau, Jackson Charles Graf and Nicholas Schade Graf.
