Haverhill: Arlene F. (Littlefield) Prophet, 90, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2014 at the Stevens-Bennett Home. She was the wife of the late Kenneth Carl Prophet.

Born in Haverhill on January 24, 1924, Arlene was the daughter of the late Carlton H. and Gertrude (Fitts) Littlefield.

Arlene was educated in Haverhill and graduated from Haverhill High School, Class of 1942. She worked many years as a manager at the Merrimack Valley National Bank where she rose to become one of the first women bank officers. She had also worked for a short time as an agent for Costello Real Estate.

Arlene is survived by her daughters; Pamela A. Kirkman and husband Richard of Salem, NH and Leslie Ann Costello of North Andover; grandchildren; Heather Bellerose, Benjamin Costello, Meredith Conte, Flyn Costello and Emily Dandurant; sisters, June Walker of Haverhill and Betty Fionte of Methuen and several nieces and nephews. Arlene was the sister of the late Carlton H. Littlefield, Jr.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral on Monday, at 12:00noon at Dole, Childs & Shaw Funeral Home, 148 Main Street, Haverhill. Calling hours will precede the funeral from 10:00 to 12:00. Interment at Linwood Cemetery will be private.
