Angelo
Santoro
May 17, 1939 – December 28, 2019
HAVERHILL - Angelo Santoro passed away on December 28, 2019 peacefully and surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Pietracupa, Italy son of Domenico and Maria (Gugliemi) Santoro. In 1960, he immigrated to America where he resided in Haverhill. He was the proud owner of Santoro's Variety where he served his customers with a coffee along with a smile. Many life-long friendships developed throughout the years.
After closing the store, he worked at Brooks School in the kitchen where he loved providing food and conversations to all the students until he retired at the age of 75. His age never slowed him down; after retirement you could still find him at the "store" working on a project, or at home cooking dinner. He loved spending time at the beach, was a Sons of Italy member for years, and enjoyed carpentry. His family held a special place in his heart.
Angelo was the beloved husband of Pierina (Russo) Santoro for 49 years. He is survived by his son, Antonio Santoro and wife Jennifer Goldwebber-Santoro, and granddaughter Noa. His daughter Maria Santoro and Matthew Potter of Salisbury, MA. He is also survived by his brothers, Antonio Santoro of Haverhill, Michele Santoro of Italy, and Luciano Santoro of California and many nieces and nephews. He is joined in heaven by his late sister Joanne (Agnes) Calabro, and brother Nicola Santoro.
Family and friends are kindly invited to gather for visiting hours on Sunday, January 5 in the Driscoll Funeral Home, 309 So. Main Street, Haverhill from 3:00 to 6:00 PM.
