NEWBURYPORT - Amelia C. Hewlett of Newburyport passed away peacefully of natural causes the morning of Wednesday, June 24th, 2020 at Country Center for Health and Rehabilitation in Newburyport.

Amelia was born on January 12, 1930 in Merrimac, MA, daughter of Frank and Karolina Gortot. She worked for several years at Western Electric in North Andover and Hytron Manufacturing in Newburyport. Amelia loved the beach and enjoyed sunning and walking on Plum Island.

Amelia was predeceased by her husband Norman with whom she shared 36 years of marriage until his death in 1997. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her sons Wayne of Merrimack, NH, Norman Jr. of Oviedo, Florida. She will also be missed by niece Donna Como of Malden, MA and nephew Frank Gortot Jr. of Dallas, TX.
